Started a new role at work at the end of August. After 3 years working under the support team I have moved onwards and upwards to an API Support Specialist role. Pretty excited, it lets me develop my technical/coding skills I have been building over the last 5 years and while it is not the developer role I envisioned when I started learn to code back in 2020, it is still progress.
Been learning heaps, understanding how capable Claude code is and I am really thankful for my managers who helped me get this role.
Privileged enough to be heading to the US from the 19th till the 3rd of October. I will be in Portland, Maine for a week for an AI work conference and then heading to NY for a weeks holiday.
Katelyn and Archie are coming along too and I am excited to experience New York with Katelyn. I visited back in 2016 with my friends Laura and Emily and wished that one day I could come back with her as I thought she would love NYC.
In other news…football season wrapped up 2 weeks ago. Finished 4th out of 8 teams which isn’t too bad. On our day we could beat any time and I had a whole lot of fun with the boys this year. Ricky has been an excellent coach and had a great energy for the team and the club throughout the season. Hope to play again next year but we will see what happens.
Oh and I scored in our final game of the season, we won 8-2, my first goal in about 2 seasons!
To maintain fitness I have started running again, did 20km last and plan to do the same again this week. Will try build up from there to maybe 30km a week but we’ll see if I can continue running while in the states.
Also started lifting again at work…forgotten how bad DOMS are.
